My Entrepreneurship Story

I have had the opportunity to work for two entrepreneurs for about 4 years while in high school and in college. These two people started a business in the citrus industry and they focus on selling fresh fruit, orange juice, and they do wholesale. My time with this company and I'm sure my future encounters with this company was a very good learning experience. I learned that there is always a risk being taken and decisions to be made. I hope to be a successful entrepreneur like them one day.

I am taking this class as an elective for my major and I am interested in learning more about entrepreneurship and what I can do to be a successful young adult.

  1. Short and sweet, Daniel. I'd like to know more about the people you've worked for. Maybe you can incorporate interviews with them into your blog?

My entrepreneurship story focuses on my great grandfather. I remember when I started the course, I was wondering whether entrepreneurship was in my blood, and that's where I started. You can check out my post here: http://adventuresinent.blogspot.com/2016/01/my-entrepreneurship-story.html.

  2. That is a very cool experience working with a group of entrepreneurs in the Citrus Industry. You probably have gotten a good amount of exposure of their business model. Knowing how wholesale business works can help in any business industry, as you either have to be a wholesaler or use one for your business.Having knowledge of working with a large business and working in a specific industry can be useful knowledge to bring into your future career field.

  3. 4 years! That is a lot of experience considering how young we are. It's important to spend time doing something you are interested in to see if you are really serious about it. Hopefully this class can give you a new perspective on he experience you already have.
I find it interesting the main thing you mentioned about you time working for the citrus company was that there are risks and decisions that will have to be taken/made. This is probably one of the most important things to be aware of when deciding whether entrepreneurship is right for you.
I am taking the class for the same reasons as you. Hopefully we find what we are looking for.

  4. Daniel,
it is very interesting that you worked for an entrepreneur for 4 whole years but I wish you would have posted more about your experiences while you were there. I bet in 4 years you have definitely racked up very many. It is pretty cool that you have first hand experience with real entrepreneurs.
